Jeffrey S. Feldick, 46, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 1, 1006, at a local hospital.

Jeffrey was born on Jan. 6, 1960, in Osage, Iowa, a son of Harris W. and Lois E. (Mayer) Feldick. He moved with his family to Storm Lake, Iowa, in 1968 and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1979. Jeff went to work at the Buena Vista County Communications Center in July 1980 as a 911 dispatcher.

In September 1991, Jeff moved to Sioux City, where he worked as a 911 dispatcher with the Woodbury County Communications Center, ultimately as the Lead Communications Officer for the night shift, until the time of his death.

He was an active member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials, a certified emergency medical dispatcher and a certified communications operator. Jeff was a great socializer, enjoyed traveling and was an avid sports fan.

Survivors include his father, Harris Feldick of Sioux City; his mother, Lois Feldick of Storm Lake; a sister, Kathy May and her husband, Mark of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Craig Feldick and his wife, Cecilia of Sydney, Australia, Steve Feldick and his wife, Sandra of Casper, Wyo. and Nate Feldick and his wife, Carolina of Phoenix; three nieces, Stephanie Feldick, Abra May and Bryce May; several aunts and uncles; and a special friend, Dawn Buss of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Patricia Feldick; and both paternal and maternal grandparents.
